Rudraksha seeds come from the fruit of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus evergreen. It’s indigenous to the Himalayas, India, and Nepal as well as other areas in southeast Asia.
The name Rudraksha translates to mean “Tears of Shiva”. It’s believed that while thinking on man’s suffering Shiva shed tears of compassion which became seeds and fell to Earth.
It’s believed that those who wear Rudraksha seeds are assisted in meditation, stress relief, clarity, the sharpness of mind, and increases the power of intuition. It’s believed to lead the wearer on the right life path of truth and purpose. It’s also believed to connect the wearer to the divine cosmos, positive life forces, and increase wisdom.
This necklace contains 108 beads which I’ve strung myself. 108 is believed to be a divine number found in nature and many different religions.
I have tied a knot after each bead to make the necklace stronger, allow room for the fingertip to be able to move each bead easily, and should it break for any reason you won’t lose all 108 beads. It also has a guru bead which is the silver one which is usually not counted during meditation. It’s symbolic of enlightenment. I also made the tassel at the end by hand. I chose the color yellow because yellow not only complements the shade of these Rudraksha seeds but it stands for happiness, intellect, and energy. This necklace has a beautiful feeling as it moves through the fingers during meditation or prayer and looks gorgeous when worn even if just for fashion.
If this necklace ever does break please know you can always send it back to me and I will restring it for the cost of shipping. Just shoot me an email to arrange it.
