It's hard to film on snowy days, but that doesn't mean that it has to be miserable. Today I'm going to show you a protein bowl I love for breakfast, make some French Bread Dinner Rolls, and make a Beef and Barley Stew perfect for warming up for dinner.
French Bread Dinner Rolls:
Ingredients:
1 1⁄2 cups water
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups bread flour
Instructions:
1.) In a small to medium bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar and let stand for about 10 minutes. It should start to get foamy towards the end.
2.) In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture with oil, salt, and 2 cups of bread flour (regular flour won't work the same) and stir well till it's all mixed.
3.) Stir in remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time. At some point, it's going to be too much like dough and you'll need to use your hands.
4.) Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. If you find that your bread is a bit too dry, feel free to add some water a tsp at a time.
5.) Add a little olive oil to the large bowl place the dough in and turn to coat with oil.
6.) Cover with cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
7.) Deflate the dough and turn it onto a floured surface.
8.) Divide dough into 16 equal pieces and form into rounds.
9.) Place rolls onto lightly greased baking sheet at least 2" apart.
10.) Cover rolls with cloth and let rise until doubled about 40 minutes.
11.) Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake rolls for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
