How To Make these Ghoulishly Gorgeous Halloween Inspired Nails!

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

HALLOWEEN IS TOMORROW!!! I’m sure by now you’ve got your costume all picked out and have in mind what you’re going to be doing whether that’s going to a party, trick-or-treating with your kids, or hiding out at home handing out candy and watching something scary ( my personal favorite choice). No matter what you’re up to, an easy way to celebrate this fun holiday is to do your nails.

I don’t have children to impress, so I prefer a more elegant nail that celebrates the season. I personally do that by using colors that are a bit more toned down, and designs that are a bit more sophisticated. This look is something that can be worn to the office, as well as to any event you have going on tomorrow and it’s fairly simple for anyone to recreate!

1.) Okay, the first thing you want to do to achieve this look is to remove all old nail polish and clean and shape your nails.

2.) Once I’m happy with how my nails look, I like to put a coat of OPI Ridge filler just so that my paint will go on smoothly.

3.) After that, you’ll want to paint your nails. The orange color I used is a bit toned down and I LOVE it. It’s called “Suzi Needs a Loch-smith” (linked below) by OPI. I also did a black accent nail with “Lincoln Park After Dark” (also linked below) also by OPI.

4.) Once my base coats have dried I start using my stamps. I religiously use nail plates and stamps by MoYou London. I’ve found that they’re super high quality and always look good, they’re reusable and work no matter what polish I use so long as it’s got a strong pigmentation. The specific plate I used to get this effect is called “Fashionista 07” (linked below) and I used their Crystal Clear Nail Stamper so I can see exactly where I’m putting my stamp on my nail!

I used black nail polish, chose the design I wanted, and put the polish on that design. I used the scraper to remove the excess polish and then quickly picked up the design with my nail stamper. You want to be quick because if you wait the design may not lift off the plate. After that, I placed my black design on my orange nails! Repeat to all your orange nails.

5.) Now all my nails are done and looking hauntingly beautiful, I protect them by applying a layer of clear OPI Top Coat. Let dry and you’re done!

So even if you’re just handing out candy at home your nails are looking ghoulishly gorgeous and you didn’t need to spend a ton of cash to get the effect. Also, if you chip them it’s no problem, you now know how to recreate the design without needing to go back to the salon for a touch-up! I hope this has inspired you.
