Welcome to five awesome finds for November! This is a compilation of five articles that I found either funny, helpful, or comforting in some way. Being that this is November, these articles center around things like family, turkey, and of course the American holiday of Thanksgiving! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

.) 24 Main Course Alternatives for Thanksgiving: I think I’ve said this before, but I am not a turkey kind of girl. It’s not that it’s dry, or bland, or just way too much for Amin and I to eat in any reasonable amount of time… IT’S THAT IT’S ALL OF THAT AT ONCE!!! No matter how I baste the turkey it’s always dry, and I’m going, to be honest, with the exception of the skin, it’s not the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted. So why waste the time, energy, and money on something because it’s “Tradition?”. These main meal substitutes are fantastic options if you aren’t feeling terrific for turkey. Check them out HERE.

.) How to Host a Virtual Friendsgiving: I am lucky to have my husband to keep me company for Thanksgiving. I’m also lucky to be a self-proclaimed introvert who has many online friends because that’s really all my little heart can stand. It got me thinking though if I was single, how would I connect with people during a time of social distancing? Thankfully, I’m not the only one considering this and THIS article from Martha Stweart helped a lot! Especially if you add in watching the parade and the National Dog show on NBC to the festivities.
.) This Documentary on All that Happens to get the Macy’s Day Parade Going: This video above is a few years old, but I LOVE learning about all it takes behind the scenes to make big things happen. This documentary shows you everything from what goes into making the floats and balloons to the multiple bands and live performances,

.) The Art and Science of Gratitude: If you’re rolling your eyes with this one, I completely understand. I roll my eyes at these things too. However, no matter how nasty this year was, we need to recognize that making an effort to have gratitude in your life can help you sleep better, have more motivation to get things done, and help you manage the stress this year might throw. You can read all about it with THIS article from Psychology Today.

.) Just Watch Her Cook: Guys I’m going to be real with you. This month is stressful. Not just because of the political climate, not just because of Covid, not just because of the holiday season…It’s stressful because of all those things at once. I’m always on the lookout for comforting Youtube channels to watch. Imamu Room is all about a woman who makes bento’s for her family. You don’t see her face. You don’t hear her talk. You get to just listen to some really chill music and watch her cook. It’s great and lately, I’ve been leaving it on in the background as I blog. You can check out Imamu Room Here.
