I am always trying to elevate my cooking. I want the people who visit and eat at my house (and my lucky hubby) to always feel like they’re eating at a restaurant. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m all for an easy weeknight meal, but we all want to feel special, and being able to cook something like this not only feels great but tastes AMAZING especially if you want something refreshing for summer.
If you’ve read this blog long enough, you’ll know that I ADORE seafood ESPECIALLY during the Summer. So it should be no surprise that I’m about to tell you the recipe for these crab cakes with a remoulade that is so good that my husband often puts it on the salad that I serve alongside these cakes. If you’ve got a craving for all things crab, keep reading!
I feel like summer is made for seafood, so I’m basically obsessed with all things ocean living. If you’ve never had curry before this is a nice gentle place to start. Thai curry can be really spicy, but this has a gentle flavor that doesn’t overshadow the taste of the Mahi Mahi. For a quick weeknight meal, this was easy to make and delicious to eat!
This was the first mixed drink I made when I started to get into the art of making mixed drinks. Growing up in Florida, the only drinks I really knew were touristy mixed drinks. I’m not saying you can’t have a Manhattan or a Cosmopolitan in Florida, but the subtropical climate almost demands something refreshing and fruity. This embodies everything you want in a sweat refreshing drink that you can enjoy by a pool with your burger.
I LOVE the tropics. I’ve never been to Hawaii but if it’s anything like Puerto Rico it’s got to be gorgeous. Lately, I’ve been feeling the pull of the beach. The closest beach we have here is Revere and it’s okay, but not like the Florida beaches I grew up with. So I’m trying to celebrate the beginning of summer the best way I can and that’s through food. That’s when I had this delicious idea to make this Hawaiian Fried Rice and now the recipe is ALL YOURS!
I’ve been making this drink for a while now and to be honest it’s my go-to when I want something fun in the evenings. The combo of Amaretto and Vanilla Flavored Vodka causes this drink to not even taste alcoholic. The recipe is also super simple to make!
Sometimes it’s nice to have a pasta dish that isn’t packed with meat. I have to admit though, this dish tastes so good it’s a little unbelievable that I got it out of a Vegetarian cookbook! It’s easy to whip up too! So if you’re looking to make your meatless Mondays more fun and luxurious you NEED this recipe!
The duality of life is something frequently encountered. Good vs. Bad. Happy vs Sad. Tired vs Energize and here’s another one for you to pick between (or not): Sweet vs. Savory! Don’t worry though, once you know how to make a crepe what you put into it is all up to you so don’t be afraid to experiment a little. I LOVE Crepes, but I’ve always heard that they are tough to make. I decided to be brave though, and try this recipe to make a delicious breakfast, and it was a LOT easier than I thought it would be. So I’m happy to pass this on to you.
My husband’s birthday was recently and considering we weren’t able to go to a restaurant to celebrate, I asked him what he would like that was special for a dinner at home. He told me he wanted something that was surf and turf with a little meat and some seafood. I went scouting and found this recipe for Steak Oscar and let me tell you, it was MIND BLOWINGLY GOOD!
My mother used to make this all the time. It’s delicious, you can partially make it ahead of time and freeze it and it’s a perfect meal to have on hand for a lazy lunch or dinner when you don’t feel like cooking! Read more
