Aventurine is related to the Quartz family and it can come in a variety of hues from pale green to a deep forest green. I don’t know about you, but when I think of March I usually think of St. Patty’s Day and the major color for that holiday is hands down GREEN! Green is also significant because trees are really starting to let their buds show. So in the very least, this stone has a “certain heralding of spring” color to it.
It’s said to be a great stone to wear if you suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder because it’s green color will help you to feel more awake and connected with nature and spring which should improve the psychological effects winter can have. On that note, it’s also connected with the element of Earth and to the planet Earth as a whole. One description that I read that I LOVE is “There’s an energy of quiet contentment, like a lazy Sunday with a book on a bench in the park, that seems to be embedded in the very essence of this stone”.
This stone has a lot of “Springtime” qualities for those who use it. It has a really calming effect and gives the user feelings of “taking it slow”. It also seems to promote feelings of forgiveness and is linked to Kwan-Yin in China who is the goddess of Mercy and compassion.
It’s also considered an “all-healing” stone used to reduce stress, develop confidence, and increase prosperity. Its calming effects make it great for people who are suffering from anxiety, stress, fear or restlessness. It will help you not feel bad for taking time for yourself and doing your best for yourself and having some self-compassion.
In fact, this stone isn’t just good for you, but for everyone around you too! It keeps the user feeling grounded and understanding that everyone is doing the best they can with what knowledge they have. It keeps a positive spin on the relationships you have giving you a more realistic view rather than one-sided and leaning to ultra-positive or ultra negative views.
“The Stone of Opportunity” and the “the gambler’s stone,” are a few of its other names (since it’s green and related to money! It’s believed to be the LUCKIEST of all stones. It’s not a bad thing to have in your pocket if you’re looking to attract a little “Luck of the Irish”. It’s said that aventurine is a good stone to have in your pocket if you’re going in for a job interview.
Green is also the color of the heart chakra, so it’s no wonder that this stone is linked to having many emotionally healing properties. It’s great if you’re looking to cultivate a little more love, compassion, or to move past unpleasant emotions such as anger or negative thinking patterns. It clears blockages of energy that can clog both the heart and solar plexus.
Green Aventurine is also a crystal that’s great for people who are born under the sign of Taurus (my rising sign!). Taurus’s sign is a bull, so think of lush green fields full of grass with this one. They also like the very best of everything, so with the qualities of abundance this stone possesses, it’s no surprise it’s one that would be linked to them!
Luck, wealth, spring and love, I don’t know of a better St. Patty’s Day stone to give your lovely lad or lassie! If you have worked with this crystal before and have anything helpful to add to this post, please say so in the comments below! If you found this post helpful and would like to “Buy me a coffee” I really appreciate that! Also, don’t forget to check out the store and see if there’s anything that catches your eyes! I wish you a wonderful and may the luck of the Irish always be on your side! -Heather Astaneh
