Being a blogger isn’t as easy as Carrie Bradshaw makes it look. I have to plan out what I’m writing about, write it, edit it, stage and take pictures, edit the pictures and then add whatever affiliate links. It’s very very busy!
So often when I go out into Boston to work it’s still very hectic and I can’t always have my laptop out and blogging in a nice restaurant. I don’t want to be waiting around for a place to sit, or even the check. So I was extremely happy when Allset reached out to me asking if I’d give their app a shot.
It’s geared towards busy people looking to grab a bite at a nice place without the wait. So I planned a day out and gave it a shot! Looking through the lists, I found a place called Fuji at Ink Block. Now, I’m a sucker for sushi which means I’ve had all kinds, both good and bad. I selected it, and was able to look and plan out what I wanted from the menu all from the comfort of my couch. I booked when I’d show up, what I wanted to eat, and even PAID THE BILL all before getting there!
The next day I walked over to this up and coming part of Boston, and was greeted by their smiling staff. My server confirmed the meal I had chosen the night before, and immediately sat me at my table (NO WAITING!!!). Now, I really can’t tell you how nice it is to sit down in a beautiful restaurant like Fuji at Ink Block and not have to wait around for a table, wait for someone to help you and then wait to order, wait to get your food and then wait to pay. Knowing it was all done in advance was awesome. The ambiance was really sleek and beautiful looking, and I felt really special.
I wasn’t sure how long I’d be waiting but the food was there within minutes. I was honestly all ready for that “made hours ago and sat under a heat lamp” thing, but I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case. My soup was piping hot, and the sushi was the right temperature. I got the Deluxe Bento which meant I had a little of everything. The food was phenomenal. I mean, it was worlds better than the grab and go stuff I’m used to getting. I had to actually slow down in my eating because I realized I didn’t have to rush. In fact, I had so much extra time that I ended up ordering a nice glass of wine to enjoy. Then I actually sat there and took in the atmosphere! After I was done, I just left. It was all paid in full the night before so after thanking the waitress, that was it! I was able to continue with my day.
So if you (like me) are a busy professional but don’t want to skimp on your lunch break, I highly recommend checking out Allset and seeing what they recommend for you in your area. And if you’re like me and wanting a great sushi place in Boston, you must check out Fuji at Ink Block.
